Leslie is an independent dancer, teacher and choreographer based in Winnipeg. Leslie graduated from the School of Contemporary Dancers’ Senior Professional Program and obtained a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) Degree from the University of Winnipeg, in May 2004 and apprenticed with NAfro Dance Company. She has performed in four major productions with NAfro Dance, including their 2004 tour to Mozambique. Independently, Leslie has worked with choreographer Paula Blair in her 2005 production RAW. Most recently Leslie travelled to Maputo, Mozambique where she performed and choreographed with dancers Luis Sala (MOZ) and Reggie Danster (SA) in an international collaborative production called Terra which premiered in May 2005.

Leslie is on faculty at the School of Contemporary Dancers teaching in both their Junior Professional and General Program, at the Osborne Street Dance Club, and through X-Company. Leslie has taught professional classes for both Young Lungs Dance Exchange and the Junior National Song and Dance Company of Mozambique. During Leslie’s stay in Maputo, she also choreographed a sextet for the Junior National Song and Dance Company of Mozambique.

Leslie is very happy to be a member of Young Lungs Dance Exchange, as she feels it provides a much needed venue for young artists to create and perform their work while also lending support through an exchange of skills and resources.
