Kyla graduated from the School of Contemporary Dancers in 2002, adding her BA Honors degree from the University of Winnipeg in 2003. She then traveled to Albequerque, New Mexico, where she has been a returning guest artist with the Bill Evans Dance Company, a teaching assistant at the University of New Mexico, and the demonstrator for the Bill Evans instructional DVD. While in Winnipeg, Kyla performs with Astrid Dance Company in various choreographies by independent choreographer Rachel Niekamp, including First Floor 105. She also created and performed the solo Pleated and Depleted for The Private i Dance Collaboration. Since then, she has been working with NAfro Dance in Winnipeg. Kyla teaches with the School of Contemporary Dancers and the Osborne St. Dance Club, as well as being a guest teacher for Winnipeg's Contemporary Dancers, and the Youth Ballet of Saskatchewan's Summer School.
